Links for the Lusophile: Week of 23 Jan., 2012

Hope that you had a happy International Port Wine Day on Friday. You missed it? I suppose that you can always be ready for next year.

It seems that the Livraria Camões in Rio will not be closing after all. This bookstore specializes in Portuguese literature for a Brazilian audience.

Ericeira will be hosting a Surf Film Festival this summer. It's probably the next best thing to being out there.

Guimarães is this year's European culture capital. There are many activities on the schedule and there have been a number of articles that focus on this northern city.

So was it or wasn't it censorship? The blogosphere has been debating whether the cancellation of a radio show was directly linked to comments made by one of the show's journalists. Here is a site that has links to a few places where you can start your reading.

And what has been going on at the Casa de Serralves lately? A public art installation.

  2. Thanks!--I'm afraid I was one of the ones who missed out this year. Hoping this will become an annual event? Hope you are well.
